ORBXDIRECT.COM extremely slow downloading times

Recommended Posts

Hi, been noticing that downloading files from the new OrbxDirect.Com system takes too long since downloading rates are extremely slow. Have anyone experienced the same?. Bought LOWI today and download rates are in the range of 100-110 Kbps which is far lower than the possible rates with my not-as-good internet speed (around 700-800 Kbps). Could it be that their server is congested most of the time?.

Cheers, Ed

It's a perennial problem with sim related downloads, at least it has been for me. I've had numerous trouble at various sim-store venues downloading very large files, especially when they're new and the rush is on, and there seems to be nothing much than can be done about it. :-/

Just have to wait it out, and of course, it's the luck of the draw. Downloads are not always slow.

Its one of the good things about Steam however, that you have to just about break the internet to slow them down.

Have you tried the manual download ? Click on *Info* beside the product and then the *Manual Download* is at the bottom. It loads one big zip file which you can point FTXC3 to.

I have had to manually download all update files after I converted to FTXC3. No luck through direct download.

Does not motivate me to buy more.

Have you tried clicking the CDN Download Server (<-- don't remember what exactly it's called...) option in settings?

Also, shutting down FTXCentral, clearing your %temp% folder, and restarting sometimes helps.
