Level D 767 for P3D Now Available

Recommended Posts

I just got my panel initialization error solved and mine is working. Since it has been bought back from the dead I'm going to call mine Lazarus. Wonderful plane and so glad to see her.

Got to get over to the LVLD forum and thank those guys.

Anybody got good instructions on how to install the VC cockpit mod?  The readme is ambiguous I find.

So I just got an email from Maurice @ Zinertek ( They released a payware VC upgrade for the 767 a few years ago for FS9 thats available at Simmarket  )

He said in the email "

we are just about to release a BRAND NEW version of the Level-D 767 HD cockpit designed specifically for FSX and P3D.

This new version isn't simply a port of the FS9 version as this version comes with new and more detailed textures that will make the cockpit look way more realistic.

We hope to release it within the next couple of days"

How much $$ I wonder...a fine line, anything over say 30 dollars is questionable.

- Do a backup of the "texture" folder inside your LVLD-B767 aircraft folder. You can rename it to "texture.ORIGINAL" for example, and leave the original "texture" folder as it is.

- Copy and replace the files when asked from the downloaded zip file into the "texture" folder mentioned above. Now you have two "texture" folders, one original and one modified, so you can always go back to the original in case you don't like the mods.

- Do the same for the "texture" folder inside your LVLD-B767 winglet variant folder, but just copy and replace the few files needed into that folder (you should copy and paste about three files in this case, it's easy to check).

Now you should be good to go!.

Is the FMC still not accessible from the virtual cockpit, only the 2d popup?

That is the only thing I don't like if true. I am on P3D v. 3.3.5 and I heard there is a memory leak with 2D panels on this version. Hence one of the reasons FSLabs waited until 3.4 for release. I imagine if I keep opening the FMC that might cause OOM. With the PMDG birds I never use 2D panels. But if the OOM is the actual opening and closing repeatedly, then I will just open once and drag to 2nd monitor.

No memory leaks with the Level-D 2D FMC. This aircraft is not a resource drainer. I too use P3Dv3, and don't even have the latest or the greatest. If I can run smoothly, almost anyone can.

Installed it and I have a few comments:

Pros:

If you already had it for FSX, then it's free!!!!!

Liveries are easy to install

One of the easiest planes I've ever hand flown in the sim

Good VAS use

Good on FPS

Cockpit reminds me of what I heard the few times I was in an airline cockpit IRL

Cons:

Even with the VC mod the cockpit is VERY dated

Several non-functioning buttons (Only a big deal it you're used to PMDG planes)

FMC is 2D only

No SIDS/STARS in FMC

If you are used to the VRInsight MCP2 Boeing panel, there is no Linda module and the VRInsight software cannot read the sim (So get used to mousing over everything all over again)

Weird engine sounds when panning around the A/C

Not sure if this is worth $54 for a plane of this age

Hope this helps someone out there!

I had no SIDS and Stars at first install.

Updated Navigraph with this as a new addi-on and they were available in FMC instantly.
