JAR A320 X-Plane11 - Worth it?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Happy Easter.

I was wondering about upgrading the A320 for X-Plane 11. My A330 seems to work OK so I am going to leave that for now. Do any of you have the new version? I was wondering how much of an improvement it is over V2.7 B2. My main gripe was always the cockpit textures in the 320. I find the A330 much better

Would be interested to hear you r thoughts

RIchard

I went for the Beta upgrade ($20), and at last update, everything worked fine, with no issues.  I didn't take it out on really long flights, maybe 2 hours or so, but it's performance was stable for me.  I believe that JarDesigns is still working on it, so if you upgrade, it'll be a one-time fee to access the beta builds, and then of course, when it goes final, you are still good to go.  i watch the Org often for any new updates, as well as running the updater, but nothing new has come down the pipe recently.

Thanks Jim,

How do you find the cockpit textures? Have they been improved at all in V3

To be quite honest, I never even gave the textures a second look.  I ran this plane originally in XP10, and they looked like the standard Airbus textures, and then going to XP11, maybe the colors popped a little more, but I can't give an accurate account, since I have a 4k, color calibrated screen, so everything I see is like technicolor from the Wizard of Oz. lol

I cannot speak for JD directly, but they may have or will, change the VC textures.  i know the exterior will get a better treatment, due to PBR lighting effects, reflections, etc.
