I still have this issue:

It is not "Tower" any more, so that is fixed. But the end of the phrase is still missing.

The missing word was "final". The issue appears to only affect people using TTS voices as thir FO. Since most testing is done using human recorded voices, it was missed.

Should be OK now with this patch

Bumping because users are making queries via e-mail and starting PF3 related threads without seeing this important thread.

Could an Avsim moderator please pin this thread.

Thank you

Hello all,

i run into i few problems. Maybe they're related to each other.

What i've understood is that fo deals with comms by default!

So when i say my comms, he shouldn't respond to pf3 when I ask for atc clearance.

But he does, rightaway before i had the chance to ack it, though i've pressed the ptt button!!! (it's also the only time he's quick responding. In flight it took ages!!!).

When he's reponding the atc clearance, he's reading the whole stuff back en somehow i don't get a "read back correct" respond.

Due to all this i think when i ask fo for the push clearance, fo request atc clearance again:huh:. Though he did change freq and pf3 responded correctly.

Can all this be that my pf3 tgs is not working any more?

Another thing is the runway change. MCE is trying to disable tgs and then nothing happened. Mostly i had to restart MCE

Best regards

John Cramer

Hi Starter,

Can I ask if your using closed captions or the PF3 log file method?

I ask as I've been  experiencing recently my FO not responding to PF3 and not responding to reedbacks. Anyway I turned off closed captions and started using the PF3 log method. This improved things a great deal, I just miss the visual confirmation on screen.

Might be worth you trying this and see how you get on.

Hi Rob,

Thnx for your reply.

Closed captions is unchecked. (does that mean i'm using the pf3 logfile method?).

My cp mode is set to zero.

Tried another flight. Still the same.

First i said "my comms.".  Fo ack. it. Then i ask for atc clearance, pf3 gave it and....before i had the chance my fo ack. again:angry:.

No "read back correct", though fo switches to ground. Ask for pushback clearance (was also visible in red line), fo request atc clearance again, but pf3 gave pushback clearance.

Best regards John

No, it doesn't happen automatically.

Go to PF3 installation folder and open "PF3_MCE.ini".

Set "Active=1" and save.

Fo should then get the captions via a file named "Clearance.log".

Make sure "PF3.exe" is set to run as admin, to guarantee it can write to that file no matter where it's installed to..

Don't forget, there is an option in MCE UI, ATC tab "FO can take over ATC when busy".

Disable it if you don't want FO to automatically reply after a set time period has elapsed, and you still haven't replied yourself.

Don't worry too much about FO phrasing when he replies.

Although it's very lucky the MCE FO recorded voice packs can handle the text output by PF3 without asking every voice actor to redo the stuff,, there is the odd word here and there that Fo can't utter.

You can always use a quality TTS voice if you wanted.

I have to say I've seen a huge difference in the response recognition since swapping to the clearance log method.

I've also tried using TTS voice packs and was stunned to hear my FO request clearance to the airport name (Arlanda) and not use the ICAO ESSA.

I hope it works for you Starter.

When will mce and pf3 be set up and able to "talk" to ATC in xplane 10 or 11?

It's already implemented in MCE package for X-Plane.

However to get PF3 to work with X-Plane 11 or 10, you need a plugin named PFEtoXPlane

i hve been using that and i havent been able to "talk" to atc. They dont respond. After going  a couple of emails with support i was told that i cant talk to pf3 only native atc and that i had to have copilot do the atc contact. When i key the mike and speak it shows what i said in the upper corner of the screen but atc never responded. works with copilot, but i rather do it myself.

emails with MCE support

Emails read;

Hi Adam. Suggest you read this thread.

-----Original Message----- From: Adam [mailto:adam@towaysinar.com] Sent: 24 November 2017 23:55 To: Multi Crew Support Subject: MCE TO PF3 ISSUE i have installed and atc does not respond. i can talk to copilit with no problems, have trained speech recog, all works except atc response. have checked and quadruple checked settings, reinstalled, when i key in to atc what i say shows up exactly as i said it still no responses, such as i tune to clearance and say "clearance (callsign) is ready ifr to K I A D" and get no response back. Adam

Then next email i sent:

everything else from pf3 shows up in mce window. flight plan altitude etc just always says vhf not established

Adam

 then last response was:

Ah, I see. Please ignore that notification. It was initially devised for the native ATC. It's not updated with PF3 You aren't expected to monitor it. What matters is the ability for Fo to see those PF3 captions, so he can see which altitude, squak, heading or speed is assigned and react accordingly. Ben The FS++ team

so thats when i was wondering when i could talk directly to atc on my own.

Make sure you're on MCE for X-Plane latest here

You need either enable "Closed Captions" in PF3 settings, or use the log file interface by opening "PF3_MCE.ini" (found in PF3 installation folder) and setting "Active=1"

tried that... not working..... speak "clearance jetblue 1 9 0 ready for atc"  .... it shows up on the screen in closed caption,...... no response from radio....... it is set to clearance delivery frequency......

pf3 set to no voice.......PTT pause interval 20.......use closed caption mode on..... only item unchecked at the moment is ..use PM MCP but it dosent make a difference if i check or uncheck this.

Thnx Gerald.

For the other problem i had was that somehow after updating pf3 to the latest version, all my hotkeys were resetted back to the old ones. So MCE couldn't send the right key (control+shift+?)

Hello,

I've just installed the latest MCE, using it with PF3, and P3DV4.3.

I'm trying use the FO handling all ATC (switch freq., respond to ATC, etc.). Of course, I know to handle the radio and ATC responses while on the ground, but once in the air, I say 'YOU HAVE ATC'. The FO responds that he does, but from that point on, he never responds to ATC, never automatically changes the frequencies, etc.

Not sure what to look at to help me find out what I'm either doing wrong or what setting I need to adjust...

When I do take over, by pressing the PTT button on my joystick, ATC does respond correctly to my requests...but is very slow to respond. Pressing one of the PF3 keys to respond gets a much faster response.

I've tried wading through these 17 pages to find some help, but it is difficult to find things, and then try out in PF3/MCE. It would great if a summary of information or FAQ could be added.

I did find information such as:

PfePerCharSpeedDuration=40
MceFOPerCharSpeedDuration=40

which I did just add to the mce.ini, but have not tried yet. Not sure if this will solve the completely non-working FO command to 'have ATC', but I'll try. If there are other things I can look at, I would surely appreciate the help.

Thank you.
