Couple of noob questions

Many apologies if this is answered elsewhere, I haven't been able to figure out the specific search terms to find what I'm looking for!

Is there a way to map a joystick key to hiding the MCE window and to mute microphone input? I've seen that by default space/ctrl are push to talk keys but I would rather have a way of "latching" these states so that I can step away from the PC/answer the phone etc.

You can use the "NumlLock" keyboard key as a toggle to eneble/disable all MCE speech recognition.

This behaviour isn't enabled by default, just in case it messes up the Demo.

Go to "general" tab in MCE UI and click <More options> button.

 

In "advanced options" panel, enable option "NumLock mutes reco".

After that you can use it.

The other way to mute speech reco is by holding the <END> key down. Recognition resumes when you release that same key.

By default, MCE doesn't listen to "space bar" or "CTRL" keys, but it's possible via some edit to fsInsider.ini file, when required.

If you click on the little green triangle ( second from the right top of the MCE GUI) it shrinks. Then right click on the bar (on a blank bit) and from the menu "Hide control panel" this then puts MCE into the task bar. The reverse procedure puts the GUI back.

As for emulating this with one joystick key, I can't say. Possibly with a mouse macro if you can program one. Or use a third party app like Voice Attack to program a mouse macro.
