Looking for good payware float planes

Recommended Posts

I'm using Carenado's old C185F amphibian. That does get the job done but it's really aged over the years.

I also have the option of the tri-pacer from Lionheart, only holds 3 pax instead of the 5 above.

so what else is available to get into those tiny lakes with cabins?

I'm debating Lionheart Kodiak but seems old as well. Nothing shiny and new coming down...oh wait.. Milviz new Beaver, if that ever comes out.

Ciao!

The Kodiak is a good one. The Aerosoft Beaver for FSX will work fine in P3D. The Aerosoft Twin Otter is also another good one.

I would go for the Aerosoft Twin Otter if I had to choose one from Vic's list. You get the -100 and -300 variants, the -100 variant has float, wheel, ski and tundra wheel options, and the -300 has amphibious (floats with wheels), wheels and ski and tundra wheel options.

It's a fantastic plane and has been updated to work with FSX:SE and P3D, whichever flavor of the two you might run. There are also hundreds if not thousands of repaints available for it.

I'm looking forward to Milviz's Beaver, but in the meantime the AS Twotter fits the bill perfectly.

I'd put in a vote for the Twin Otter, make sure to read manual on the Auto pilot.
