MFC80.dll minor, but weird issue

Recommended Posts

Hello,

anyone knows what MFC80.dll is? Each time I start FSX after booting my PC, it says FSX cannot be started because MFC80.dll is missing on my system.

The funny thing is that FSX always loads normally on the second try. Isn't that against all logics?

Anyone knows what I should be looking at?

You need to update Visual C++ redistributables. The C++ 2005 would cause this error you have, updating it to the latest version fixes it. Just google for Visual C++ 2005 update or latest version.

It's a good idea to have all of the latest versions, see here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads . It's needed for different addons

My bet is that it's being caused by the latest version of FSL Spotlights.  I had the exact same issue and the only way to resolve it was to revert back to an earlier version (1.0.22).
