I need an advice on choosing a product

Dear all!

I fly IFR only in P3D, and I am looking at ORBX's Central and South California packages to combine with other addon airports including ORBX's SAN.

My question is, if this would be too much for my system in terms of VAS and even FPS? Compared to say megascenery earth.

The question you pose is difficult when you say you only fly IFR. IFR is generally an over used term here where people say they only fly IFR rather than saying they mainly fly airliners which file IFR flight plans but are usually in VFR conditions. If you only fly on IFR conditions, meaning always reduced visibility then that is something else entirely different.

Having said that I can provide the following recommendations, which by the way have been asked many times here.

If you only fly in IFR conditions with reduced visibility then no, having any scenery enhancements wouldn't be worth buying if you can really see anything.

Or, of you fly airliners primarily in VFR conditions, I wouldn't recommend getting the Central or SoCal packages for two reasons. First the FPS and VAS hit might be too much when flying a complex plane and you'll end up having to either turn off most features or disable completely. Second, when flying an airliner you'll probably be so busy you won't really have time to look around and enjoy the extra detail.

I'd suggest for airline flying just Global, Open LC and a vector program like UTX or FTX Vector. Minimal performance hit and good visuals.
