PMDG 747-400 V3 & PMDG 747-400 X

Recommended Posts

Can I have both PMDG 747-400 V3 and PMDG 747-400 X installed in the same MS FX? will it work?

Not sure, but after you fly v3 you'll probably want to throw the older version in the recycle bin, it's that much better on VAS and FPS, plus all the new features.

You might want to ask in the PMDG section.

My guess would be yes since they are separate products and don't share any commonality, except for the navdata.

Yes, they'll both work. They're two separate products, much like you can have the 777 installed at the same time as the NGX.

Thanks,

All PMDG aircraft use the same nav database. As I recall, the new 747 didn't overwrite the current database that I use.

Is navigation data base up to date on PMDG 747-400 v3?

It was the most up to date AIRAC cycle at the time the time they released the plane. PMDG always releases with the most up to date cycle, however it's already out of date.

If you want to keep the cycle your on now, just back up the PMDG Navdata folder then overwrite it after you install the v3.

You need to purchase a subscription from either Navigraph or Aerosoft (Navdata Pro). They have manager applications that will do it all for you.

The v3 747 uses over 1gb of vas on my fsx install. The old 747 is better on vas and fps but much less functional and not as up to date.
