Liveries for the old Boeing 747-400

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I want to know how I can install liveries for the old Boeing 747-400 from PMDG. I mean the Queen of the Skies I. I searched on the PMDG website, in the PMDG opertation center and on google but I found nothing.

I hope someone can help me.

Hmm... Since support for the 'Queen of the Sky' version 1, has been discontinued I assume they've removed the liveries from their website.

The only place you can find liveries, is on various flightsim download sites. Our own AVSIM File Library is a good place to start ...

Thanks for your answer. I just search for a Emirates SkyCargo livery but also on avsim file library there are only liveries for the QOTSII.

It's a shame those legacy liveries have been taken down. Although the products aren't supported there's no reason why the library of liveries should be removed. Or maybe they could be archived somewhere else, such as the avsim library?

I'm looking for a Cathay Pacific passenger livery for V2 but all I can find on avsim are V3 or cargo liveries.

It's a form of discouragement, to make you buy the latest Queen of the sky.

I doubt that very much,

You can doubt it all you want, but if you can't get any support or livery for a product you already bought, like I did, you will get discouraged to the point of either, buying the new version, or none at all. I've chosen none, and planning to move on to X-Plane here soon any way. Tired of all the money wasted on products you can't get any more support on. At least you can create a whole lot of real world scenery for free with X-Plane. Not knocking PMDG's quality, it's next to none any where else in the industry, and I understand it's a business, but it's time to move on.

X-Plane is no different regarding legacy product support. I have XP10, and support for that platform will gradually disappear as people move to XP11. The same thing will happen in time to XP11 users. You could be cynical and say this is done to encourage people to move to the new version. Or you could be practical and say legacy support can't be expected indefinitely.

Not looking for support for the old 747, there was nothing wrong with it in a technical sense, except you can't get the old liveries any more. That's not asking for support, that's asking for access to your files. Even RealAir went out of business, but they kept the site open for their customers to still access their purchased products. It's the least that can be done without leaving customers high and dry.

I agree completely. But it is what it is and all forum members can do is try and help each other. The livery files are out there (I have a few) so they can be found.

The Wayback Machine shows what the site consisted of yet the downloads are resulting in "source file cannot be read".

I too would appreciate having the legacy liveries for the FS2004 versions of the PMDG 737/744 variants. Very interested.
