BTE World Tour '17 - Leg 3a/b KIAD to BGGH

Recommended Posts

This leg of the adventure to Nuuk, Greenland required a stop to refuel. I chose CYWK in Wabush, a small town in the western tip of Labrador, known for transportation and iron ore operations with a population of 1,861 according to Wikipedia.

Leg info:

  • Washington Dulles Intl (KIAD) Parking 127, Ramp GA Medium to Nuuk (BGGH)
  • Flight plan distance - 1856nm (3a 990nm, 3b 866nm)
  • Cruise Altitude - FL290
  • KIAD Weather - Wind Direction and Speed 91°M, 9 kts, Temperature 13°C, 56°F, Sea Level Pressure 29.91 inHgv,, Visibility > 20 nm

So after getting fueled up and parked I needed to find a ride (...dog sled maybe?) to Jordan's Family Restaurant (...read good things on Google...) about 5 minutes away for a late lunch. The plan is to give the PC-12 a good going-over then take a short nap before heading to Nuuk. I hope to be wheels up by around 4pmn local.

I should have 3b posted up tonight. Until then, happy landings!

Barry

These shots are as good as your idea of a world tour. Fantastic stuff.

Somewhere down there is what remains of the coast of Newfoundland Labrador and North America as seen from   FL290. Now it's over the Labrador Sea and onward to Greenland:
