X-Plane Airports Resource

Recommended Posts

For those of you out there, that are either waiting for a professional developer to create your favorite airports, or are looking to replace the empty default ones, I discovered a link the other day that provides a comprehensive listing of freeware airports, around the world.  I assure everyone that the following link is safe, since it really is just an aggregate site that lists available airports, as well as the author, the date created and any other pertinent information about the add-on.  The site also provides links for the gateway counterpart, but I would suggest not downloading those, as they are already included with X-Plane.

http://apxp.info/

I found this site useful in that, it takes a bit of the guesswork out of the traditional method of searching for airports at the Org, which can give you multiple listings in the search results, but not enough information to figure out what versions you may be looking for (XP10 vs. XP11).  I ran through a good portion of the US airports, last evening, as well as some of the UK airports as well.  Most of the time, the links took me to the Org for the download, so again, this site is a little quicker in finding what you're looking for.

I hope this helps out the members who are looking to expand their content for airports, and provide a cheaper solution to populating the sim with decent quality airports.
