X-Plane 11 Crash, now GTN trainer will not start

Recommended Posts

New problem arose last night, X-plane crashed for the first time, when I restarted, the GTN 750 would not start up. Just black screen. Opened GTN 2, and had transparent screen. Exited out of x-plane and tried opening just the trainer, appeared to freeze, and not turn on, just blank screen, and bezel disappears.

Running 6011 trainer, RXP GTN version 2.4.6.

Have you tried rebooting the computer?

What do "my documents\rxpGtnSim.dll.log" and "my documents\rxpGTN.xpl.log" files say?

Why are you running the older Trainer 6011 instead of the latest 6210 ?

I only installed the trainer that the installer linked to.

And yes, I did reboot, several tries.

Can you provide link to latest Trainer?

Reinstalled the GTN, and the current trainer. Same issue. Blank screen, as in not on. Bezel is there. Attempted restart, attempted reboot. Same every time.

Yes Sir, nothing has been quarantined.

Could something with FSEconomy be conflicting? I've only been using it for a few days, and the GTN had been working fine for about a month before.

But the issue happens now whether I'm using FSE or not now since the crash.

Just a thought.

Removed all files for FSE, GTN still not working. Uninstalled the GTN through add and remove, the reinstalled, still not working. Just black screen, as if GTN is not coming on.

Latest logs:

17/05/18 02:42:52.787 08716 -    ] # win.xpl version 2.4.6.0

I did notice this though in the X-Plane 11 Log:

It looks like you have a plugin launching a script ( "init.sec" ) which seems to try messing up with 'Avionics'.

Doing a file search for 'init.sec' should give you the folder, thus the plugin?

I had removed the folder that file was in, and still got the error.

I just don't understand why the trainer will not start. It just goes to blank screen with no bezel when I click Power On.

Does the following look like the right path?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GTN Trainer\GTN\sys\sim  GTN Simulator

Going to do a clean install of X-Plane 11, and only the GTN in the folder, and see what happens.

Did complete X-Plane 11 and RXP GTN 750 install, same issues. Black screen as if GTN is not turning on.

Windows 10 is up to date, all drivers show as current and up to date.

Suggestions?

The problem is with the AMD drivers, no issues with the RXP GTN or Garmin trainer.

Thank you for all the help guys. Much appreciate.

I'm glad you've found out. I've removed the link because it is not accessible.

There has been other reports in the forum about failing AMD drivers

This AMD driver has been reported as good:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous/detail?os=Windows 10 - 64&rev=16.12.2

Lately, we've had support ticket with the same problems and Intel HD drivers. They are problematic as well, not just for RXP GTN. Here are discussions about some of the Intel HD bugs:

https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=710443
