My experience with AeroFly FS2

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks:

Just wanted to share my experience so far with Aerofly FS2 from IPACS:

- Excellent fluidity (FPS limited to 128 without sttuters).

- Ideal for VFR flying, as scenery is as real as a real picture. The lightning, the sensation of "being there" is the most real of all sims I ever tried.

- Easy interface, qiuck setup.

- Easy controls setup process.

- Excellent stock aircraft with nice effects, lightning, reflections and physical behavior (IPACS is still working on some needed additional features, like instruments, fuel capacity & comsuption, engine start-up process, FMC, etc., but they'll eventually get there, hopefully soon).

- Very good cloud and weather representation, and easy setup.

- Still in Early Access stage at Steam Store.

- Will get LOWI (Innsbruck) and KCGX (Meigs Field) by mid-June from ORBX as new DLC (payware).

Couldn't recommend it more. It's by far an excellent complement to my flights in P3Dv3.4.

Cheers, Ed

Hi,

I went to their website--it looks like an interesting simulator.  It's good to see that flight sims still have a place in the PC and hobbyist community.  Aerofly, Lockheed and X-Plane have kept the hobby alive and growing, as well as all the support from the third party developers out there.  I still buy aircraft add-ons even though my system is nine years old and has a failing cpu fan.  I love the hobby and the relaxation it provides,  In addition to FS-X, I still have FS-9 on my system which is loaded up with AI traffic.  I fly it from time to time but my passion is FSX and the photoreal scenery I created of the western US using FSEarthtiles.

Glad to hear Aerofly FS2 works so well for you!

John

For me Aerofly FS2 is a half baked sim. No real weather, no real flight sim. Weather is a huge part of flying. Period.

To get the scenery where I am interested in flying I have to pay them thousands. No, thank you. I am not going to support DLC type sims, in sense that I expect base scenery for the entire world, don't mind paying for the odd airport.

Photo scenery without autogen, naa. Not for me.

I understand that it is early access and it might be much improved by the time the full sim is released.

Glad you found a secondary sim to play around with!

Cheers.

Cannot guarantee that for sure, because I'm new with AFS2, but seems to me that some scenery includes autogen.

JV and Jarrad Marshall over at Orbx have made multiple mentions of Ipacs introduction of an autogen system that will make its debut with the Innsbruck scenery. Its also been revealed that this will be in use in the Chicago Meigs scenery as well and will be available to scenery designers working with Aerofly in the future.

I'm hoping that Orbx converts their US western airports to AeroFly FS2!  Would really like to see Sedona and their California airports in AeroFly FS2.
