Poppet has posted over at LM Prepar3D forum

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I see the inimitable Elaine Dixon (aka Poppet) has posted a helpful announcement regarding V4:

http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6305&t=124599

Looks like it will be easier in future to carry out updates and return P3D to its default state.

Regards,

Mike

She was also kind enough to post the same thing here on AVSIM.

Best wishes!

Yes the Delete generated files is a great addition.  Unlike the Prepar3D Uninstaller which only removes Prepar3D files and folders this new file will actually remove all files and folders in these 3 locations,  so any extra files or folders that are installed here by any Add On's or Tweaked by the User,  The delete generated files will remove everything.

Also,  this new file will make it much easier to bring Prepar3D v4 back to a default state when all other diagnosing attempts fail

It can be used as part of the Uninstalling process,  So basically to Uninstall v4 in the future you would follow the steps below

1)  Navigate to your core v4 location, double click on Delete generated files

2)  Navigate to your "Control Panel"  right click on Prepar3D Professional\Academic click Uninstall  OR Run the Setup_Prepar3D.exe again and click Uninstall

Restart your computer and that's it

===========================

The new updating feature is another great addition,  This will do away with the Activating Issues when updating v4 to a newer version
