Update for P3D v4

Recommended Posts

To close the loop between threads a bit on the P3Dv4 compatibility issue, in the Mitsubishi MU-2B update 2.4 thread, Flysimware followed up his earlier comment on P3Dv4 by saying:

I heard that DLL's may have an issue and the custom sounds and payload manager both use DLL's.

So i need to see if the developers of these are going to make new versions that i paid for.

The effects i have no clue why they would not work. Make sure they are in the correct location and try using a default as a test.

So things are being looked into and there's more info to come, I assume.

We do not need to announce anything.

Wel, that was a private message, but i would kindly request to Flysimware Team a little patience with customers.   :ampun:

My experience with V4 has been very dramatic, i´ve reinstalled it several times because of incompatibilities and sceneries/aircraft not really updated that finally damaged something in the V4 core systems, leading to disaster...   So far, im very very carefull about installing addons into V4, so i make sure the developers "clearly" indicates that their products are fully compatible before attempting anything.   After all   "All P3D versions"   sounds to me like kind of ambiguous message found in several cases where products were actually not updated to V4.    In fact, the 2.9 installer is still not listing P3DV4, so there you go...

I really appreciate the hard work, i saw the message in the Facebook site about the PL manager updated to V4, so for sure i will add many more hours of flight to this wonderfull bird.

What are you doing reading this?????   Lets go testing...! :gaul:

I tried to fly the Lear 35 in v4 yesterday and, as previously noted, some (most?) cockpit sounds were missing. Strangely, I also couldn't get the autopilot switches to stay "on" when clicking on them with the mouse. They would momentarily light up and depress when clicked, then immediately turn off. The main AP engage switch had the same behaviour when clicked with the mouse, but when I used my yoke button to engage the AP it stayed on. Very weird.

Anyone else have any trouble with the Lear 35 autopilot in v4?

Indeed no sound from the switches, inverters and others. I suppose that the "MT_XMLSound.gau" file in the panel folder needs to be updated to 64bit.

Have you heard about any update for the Learjet on 64bits?    Feels so abandoned...

Payload manager DLL for 64 bit is available now.

Custom sound module DLL for 64 bit is not available yet. But is getting updated.

Good morning, how about MT_XMLSound.gau for 64 bit promised?
The wait is very long!
Greetings.

The planes are on sale and I'm leaning to the LJ35 but the silence about v4 updates and nothing on the spoiler bug has me hesitant to spend money. Is the developer still updating?

Yes, my understanding is FSW is still working on P3Dv4 updates, such as for the sound gauge, but it will take some time I expect.  FSW is a very small company.

I don't know what spoiler bug you are referring to -- is that a P3Dv4 issue?  I don't have any L35A spoiler problems in FSX.  The LJ35A is a great a/c IMO, as is the MU-2B. They are about the only a/c I fly these days (while looking forward to the Falcon 50).

BTW, regarding the L35A spoilers, with update 2.9 they no longer respond to the standard FSX forward slash (/) key, but can be operated via the G1000_MFD_SOFTKEY6 assignment as listed in the L35 manual.

mmm passing through to check for V4...   I really miss the LJ....   Lot of new repaints around.......any step forward yet?   Im very very afraid of installing it into my V4 due to the experience ive had, and no one states:  Go ahead pal, install into V4, its ok....

Instead i see several of:   Not working this.... fail to load that.....  sound not working.... dll stuff stuk....

Oh man...im not installing/supporting anything that clearly states V4 ready....   i´ve reinstalled V4 several times trusting not official messages.

Well....  Cant fly it yet, but i will continue to remember good times for now:

I too am longing for some Lear time. So much went into creating this bird, I hate not being able to use it in V4. That and I never was able to get my favorite paint job. :(

It looks like one of the big new features is lights ? Anyone know if the landing/taxi lights are any better in v4 than they were in v3 ???

Ohh, Definitely!

Dinamic lighting is awesome....   In the other hand, did you check FSFX packages update for T7? Check a sample here on the 744

I wonder how magnific it should be for our LJ....
