Good morning, evening or night to you all,

I will be removing FSX, Xplane 10, and especially FSX-SE (I could never launch it and cannot get a refund) Also, mainly because of the above comment, I will be saving disk space by NOT installing FSW.  which I cannot fly either(using 6 screens) I will also remove V3 so I am going to have lots of SSD space. I will be keeping FS9/XPlane11 and buying V4.  Next step will be VGU upgrade and then, a little later,  mobo, CPU and RAM.  Because of my difficulties in flying previous 32bit versions I can then look forward to buying all those lovely addons. I willialso upgrade to Win10 now that Saitek have Win10 drivers. So V4 for me is going to be a very, very expensive investment.

One, I might add, that I am looking forward to.

Regards to all

I never buy anything in this domain until it has been released long enough to have all the gripes found and all the hot fixes, revs, updates, etc. issued.

Lol...see you in 2020, brother.

Been hoping for P3Dv4 64-bit for some time now. Great news.

I'll purchase this once most of my addons are made compatible, which from what I've been reading won't be years but perhaps within a few short months from now.

I'm hoping that LevelD will make an upgrade patch for their 767, but I'm not holding my breath and won't wait for this.

I hope someone makes a new 64-bit compatible 767.  Are you listening PMDG?

I've never seen an OOM so the jump to 64 bits, for me, is seen as simply "future-proofing" my system for when that day inevitably arrives.  Buying add-on scenery is something I had never done in my flight simulator career (started with SubLogic Flight Simulator II in 1983) until the spring of last year when I acquired Prepar3DV3 and then I found I couldn't stop!

I'm definitely upgrading to V4 but probably not right away.  No compelling reason really at this point in time.  And the plan is to take next year's tax refund and build the MOAC (Mother Of All Computers).  I know we can count on NVIDIA to keep pushing the rock uphill between now and then, but I worry that Intel will still be in the same old sad place they've been in for years.

The biggest thing I'm looking forward to in V4 is finding a sweet spot where I can get a better frame rate, even if I have to turn some sliders down.  Stutters and slow frame rates are a total immersion killer for me.

I only recently took the plunge and purchased P3D v. 3, as I had invested so much in FSX and add-ons. But P3D did seem to be the future, so I kept my FSX running under Windows 7 as my legacy sim, added another SSD so I could dual boot Windows 10, upgraded to 16 gigs of RAM and a new video card, and then installed P3D to another SSD to operate with Win 10. So, I have plenty of SSD capacity and a much more future capable system to handle the upgrade to v.4.  Fortunately, I have not added too many aircraft to P3D, and A2A will make that upgrade free.

While I'm not in a hurry, I will probably delete v3 soon and replace it with 64-bit v.4. I'll run FSX in the meantime for the additional aircraft and add-ons already purchased, and gradually add to my P3D hangar as time and resources allow. I knew 64-bit was coming and wanted to be ready with my hardware - just didn't expect it this soon!  But I will do the upgrade, since this is the future path, and v.4 without the VAS constraints should be much more worry free and pleasing to the eye.

I think its very interesting to see how other simmers except ourselves, evaluate the new version of P3D.

For me, 3rd party add-on support and the fact that it was 64-bit sold me. I have also had pc issues recently and intend to replace a few components and peripherals. So for me it feels like a fresh new chapter...new sim with better hardware.

One component I need to replace is storage. So with new hard drives I don't want to reinstall my old sim. I don't see myself investing in more than one flight sim at the moment as this hobby is not cheap. And can be very time consuming. One sim just means I have one animal to tame instead of multiple.

Like many others, my P3D installation is on an SSD, so I will uninstall 3.4 and start fresh. This is a good time for some general housekeeping on my Flight Sim PC.

I have also ordered a new GTX-1080 Ti GPU. The increased VRAM of 11 GB over my current GTX-970 4 GB (actually 3.5 GB), should improve performance and VRAM headroom - both for P3D Version 4 and also FSW.

I have a 1080 so I'm going to hold off a bit on a GPU

AMD is launching their RX Vega in July, It will be interesting to see how that series performs.

I ordered win 10 and an SSD to have a dual boot on two SSDs.

I plan to remove my win 7 OS SSD and plug the new SSD on another drive (x:) and install win 10 independent of  my existing win 7.

And then replug in my win 7 Drive and use EasyBCD to boot either OS

I plan to install P3D V4 with win 10 and test that out.

and see how that goes...if I continually keep logging into Win 10, Then I would permanently disable my win 7 and remove the P3Dv3  which I am sure is probally going to take about a year from now. I have my P3DV3 working nicely except for the dreaded OOMs.

That's the Plan.

Sounds like me. I still haven't purchased any version of P3D as I've been waiting until we're closer to what might be considered a final version or best version, whenever that might be, I don't know. But, that strategy has served me well as I haven't had to buy v1 through v3 so far, pay for any P3D upgrades for any addons. Most important is that I haven't had to go though the install and uninstall process along the way, along with all my addons, which there are many.

That being said, this looks like it might be closer to the sim I'd be interested in, but I'll probably wait for a few point release updates and see how it goes before jumping in.

The main issue I have now is that my hardware will need to be upgraded again to take advantage of it. Still on a 2700K, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX670, which runs FSX perfectly for me.

Im not excited about the 64bit part of P3D as I still have yet to OOM when flying my PMDG planes into large hubs, but I am interest in the cloud shadows, VC shawdows and the new precipitation effects (have not seen a sample of those yet). If I was on the OOM bandwagon like some FSX or even older P3D users are I'd probably buy it the day it came out, but find some hesitation in building a new rig and starting a fresh install of addons to gain a few new features that I've lived without for since I started simming back in the 80's. I kind of feel like one of those FS9 users still clutching to it after 14 years, lol.

I will purchase immediately and try to run V3 and V4 next to eachother, depends on how Orbx is going to deal with transferring/copying the files to the new sim (I have a linked folder on another drive, I don't have room for a copy on the main SSD). And then see when FSUIPC5 (for VA flying) and PMDG/FSLabs release their updates to see when I fully switch.

To prepare for it I ordered a 1080ti, which should hopefully arrive today.

P3Dv3 is running completely stable on my system, but I will buy v4 as I want to evolve my flightsim experience.

I will install v4 if I can install at least 3 European airports so I can fly too/from places.
