Double ATC at Monterey

Recommended Posts

I was flying into Monterey Regional Airport, one of Orbx excellent scenery, and on switching to the tower frequency, not just me, but all traffic had to response to the first ATC calling, and immediately after a second ATC would call, and we had to constantly cancel that conversation. I use IVONA voices, and two separate voices would response, that's why it felt like two different ATC were calling.

Well, today I tried again, this time from Monterey Regional to Los Angeles. Same issue as last week with duplicate voices giving clearance, taxi, and departure procedures. I was hoping it would be a one off, but no joy.

Negative, the only scenery I have, and the only reason I ever fly there is because is part of Orbx California scenery. I use IVONA voices, and have several that alternates for ATC. Never the same voice speaks when it comes to ATC at Monterey. Doesn't happen any where else I fly, so I'm not sure the reason why this is happening, unless VOXAtc is reading two different files from some where. I do use Navigraph most up to date AIRAC, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with their AIRAC cycle according to them.

Yes, I am using both ORBX KMRY with ORBX region Northern California. I will take a look at that link as soon as I get home, and see what that says. Will check back later.

Here's more:

http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/search/?&q=Kmry kmrz

ORBX added a fictional airport KMRZ in order to separate commercial  traffic and GA traffic from the Navy Flying Club. This allows the KMRY runways to be split between the two types of traffic. Just disable KMRZ'S BGL file and VOXATC should work correctly.

Thanks Jay, I will do just that. I wonder if that is also going to help out with restoring functionality to fsdt GSX, where it doesn't recognize the parking spaces.

Just read up on those links, and it seems to be related to the GSX issues at that airport too. As soon as I disable that bgl. I will try to fly from it again, and see if both GSX and VOXAtc get back to normal.

I feel bad for poor VOXATC. How they heck was it going to figure out that mess?

Well, it was more of a nuisance than a real problem. Hey, at least it was better to be safe than sorry by having ATC repeat itself, rather than staying silent all together! lol... Thanks again for your help Jay.
