I'm installing it alongside v3, I still plan to use v3 for quite a few applications (such as Prosim).

AFAIK you would only need to if hdd space is an issue.

Although my focus is on v4, still gonna keep v3 to fly PMDG and FSLabs - once they're on board I'm out of v3.

Would doing so after installing Prepar3d4 cause any problems with files?  I assume they are totally stand alone platforms so that is probably a dumb question.

I'm not. Most of my planes aren't compatible with V4. My qw 757 ft ejet and aerosoft airbus will either not be compatible or take a while to update. The pmdg 737 is also last on their list. I may just have to buy new planes lol.

I cant download it. I gave me the reciept but when I enter the license ID it says they're no downloads

If it's given you the Licence Id and Activation password then try again maybe it hasn't updated your account yet the server/s are struggling!
