Stupid question

I am having trouble getting ATIS information. In the past, if I remember correctly, all I had to do was tune the frequency and the ATIS came through automatically and continously. Now it doesn't work that way. I have tried two different airports just to be sure I was not using the wrong frequency.Bob P

A little more information would be helpful. Do you see the banner across the top of the screen and just not hear any sound? Does nothing happen? Are you setting the frequency in the standby window and not switching it to the active window? Does this happen in all your planes? What plane are you using? As the previous person said, is the sound on? I believe it is possible to turn the banner off in the FS9.cfg file or perhaps even through one of the menu choices on the ATC settings menu. Perhaps you have turned the banner off and the sound?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Correct to assume that your avionics master and COMM1 is on, COMM1 is active on the audio panel, and you get other frequencies, such as ground?

Hi,Check your folder ....FS9sceneryworldscenery and see if files like de*.bgl and dem*.bgl and so on, are there!!! I guess not!If not, copy from the CD's! They are on a Cab file. Usually this happens when people try to "re-arrange" traffic files, that are located on the same directory.CheersMiguel

Actually, those files are the terrain files. The ATIS frequencies are in the AFCAD data found in the AP* files in the scenery regional directories. If you have airports, you should have ATIS. Perhaps the airport you are trying to get ATIS from is an addon? Does this happen at all airports? If it is only a particular airport, perhaps there is a mistake in the AFCAD data of the addon?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

I am not getting any streaming information in text across the top of the screen. I have the radios on and tuned to the correct frequency. I tune in standby and then switch to active. I've tried both comm radios (1 and 2) I have tried two different airports (kcle and kcvg), same results. Neither are an addon. Using the Radar Contact program, I can't get the ATIS info but I can get audio clearance delivery, ground, etc. I think I have a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio sound card.Hope this info helps. Have I unchecked some box I shouldn't have or failed to check one I should have?Bob P

I don't know anything about Radar Contact. Perhaps there is something in the manual on this. I imagine Radar contact hijacks the ATC stream, so maybe it has something to do with that.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)
