v4 Early Impressons

As a guy said in another post,  it's a dinosaur of a sim they are selling to various defence agency's.

Overall, v4 looks great and it performs a lot better than v3 (did a quick test flight last night)...   Hopefully the LM guys will release a fix to the terrain data in the near future...

I dont think im gonna buy it  if i did then it will be 3 times that i bought FSX, that looks the same as FSX

To me, it seems almost like V3 w/64 bit. Running mid graphic levels 2048 textures very dense and dense autogen using the piper almost identical. I can't seem to activate the frame counter though, tried shift-z or button neither brings up the info.

The picture I uploaded is with default settings, no sliders were modified at all...   Give it a try, I'm sure you won't regret it....

If I turn off terrain shadows and dynamic reflections I can run every other slider at max including autogen buildings and vegetation. terrain shadows cripples my fps to single digits in a big city. I have a 3930k oc'ed to 4ghz 16gb ram nvidia titan and one ssd for os and an ssd for flightsim.

1000' off....I really feel for those who in South America. These mistakes have been rolled through each release for over a decade without a fix.

I'm new to Prepar3d. I have FSX acceleration, getting 60 FPS @ cruise and 30 at addon airports with Pmdg aircraft. 4.9ghz i7, (2) 1080 GTX's 16 gab ram, I can't get above 30fps in prepar3d even with sliders all the way to the left. You guys raving about how amazing prepar3d is, please enlighten me how you get it to perform so flawlessly, because right now FSX is performing far more superior. I know it's not about high FPS, but anything below 30, even without stutters, looks horrendous when you are in an aircraft traveling at several hundred knots; you can literally count frames

In Nvidia Inspector turn off shadercache for the p3d profile. Single display performance. Prefer max performance.

I hope you are right but i can not remember the graphics getting much better in v3 as they released updates but for now i shall not be buying v4 until i see a major improvement.

I see better visuals and less performance hit from autogen, and no OOM ever again, that alone is worth it for me as I come from FSX where I would OOM flying any PMDG aircraft into Orbx regions like NCA or SCA.
