1080Ti with 600w PSU

I'm still running my 4770 i7 rig with its original 600w power supply.  When i bought the rig it had a 780Ti GPU which I've subsequently upgraded to a 980Ti.  With P3Dv4 i'd like to upgrade the GPU to a 1080Ti.   Will the PSU (600w) be sufficient for that?

Most surely yes. Power requirements should be lower than with the 980Ti.

I just put a 1080Ti in my rig and WOW, what a difference.  Well worth the upgrade for me.

Ordered a 1080Ti yesterday, too. Nvidia should be thankful to Lockheed Martin.

Hi Folks,

Just been spec'ing a new system today and had the same concern on power supplies - answers my question as well - New Egg had EVGA's on sale - both 750 and 850 at same price - think I'll go with 850 just to be safe...

Just FYI:

I have a 1080ti and a overclocked i7 6700K (2 Sata SSDs, one M.2 SSD, AiO watercooling, 4 fans, 2 USB 3.0 devices, around 4 USB 2.0 devices) and my measurement unit on the wall shows around 450W on the wall while running 3D Mark.

I am using a 550W PSU right now and have no problems.

So I pulled the trigger on a purchase today

ASUS GTX1080TI-FE Founders Edition GF GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB 

I hope its worth it, although I can still get £300 for my 980Ti on Ebay

FYI:

Under load in P3D I had some blackscreens with "Asus surge protection triggered". So I bought a 850w PSU from beQuiet! and the problem is gone. The 550w was a Seasonic.
