Wingview #3 engine missing on CS C-130

Recommended Posts

Im excitedly tootling around in my new Captain Sim C-130 but those of you who have noticed my craze for wingviews (loud groans all around!) will know I set wingviews for planes almost as soon as I get them. So I was distressed when I set a wingview looking at the starboard wing, because:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Thr...p/Cnoenpod1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Thr...Up/Cnoenpod.jpghttp://www.planet-smilies.de/kaos/CreamPuffKaos/pcrying.gifW...wha...what happened to the #3 engine pod?! Are any of you experiencing this too?If you fly the Capt. Sim Herc please take a peek at your starboard wing and tell me what you see...thank you!! If you guys are seeing an intact pod then I must have botched the installation somewhere.

Designers often don't model certain parts they feel are "invisible" from the pilot's perspective to enhance performance. I hate the practice myself. Wing views do not detract from performance, and that's my P3/800 doin' the talking :)-John

This must be a first... moving a topic from the Hangar Chat forum to the MSFS General forum. :)

Thanks for replying John. Thats interesting and I never knew that. They do have a left seat view and you can see both engines on the left wing if you play "Captain"...but they also have a copilot 2D panel so I thought I would be able to see both props on the other wing as well, I guess you just want it all when you paid $ for it! But its okay I wont cry any more, I shall just set the right wingview to look beyond the ghost #3 hee hee :(PS: Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum mods http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...con_redface.gif

Didn't I just see an exchange between the pilots and mechanics on this?from http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...99558&mode=full"Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. ...P: Number 3 engine missing.S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.":-)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

#3 engine is missing on mine too so I expect Captain Sim left it out to save some processing power.:-) I feel slightly cheeted - how much does one of those engines cost?Jon

Thanx for the reply jonl60! At least now I know its not something thats wrong with my installation. Yes its hard not to feel a wee bit plooped after you spend money on these things but its a minor issue. I have adjusted the right-side wingview so I can only see the #4 engine!Apart from that they have done a fantastic job on the airplane.
