Sound cut out and back in - FSX-SE

Recommended Posts

Not sure what could be causing this recent issue just over the past week.

The sound will just stop and be off for maybe a second and then comes back on again, I have also noticed like a quick flash in the visuals, this is also a new issue.

I have not changed the FSX.CFG nor made any other changes to FSX - it is really weird and also frustrating.

I thought maybe my audio drivers but I have checked that and in fact even uninstalled and downloaded the latest drivers but that did not help.  Also did a Integrity check on FSX from Steam but that did not make a difference.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or thoughts on this issue?

By the way this does not happen with FSW or XP11

Found the problem - took awhile.
Nvidia GeForce was causing the problem. After deleting it the problems went away. I don't use GeForce anyway so I don't need it.

Sorry - yes I meant GeForce Experience.

But I have now added it back in BUT turned off Shadowplay (nor called Share) because I read somewhere that this sometimes causes a problem with sound, as I was experiencing. And I never use Shadowplay (Share) as for videos I use OBS.

All is still work great.

You're better off not installing GeForce Experience at all. Although it can automatically update the drivers, it's easier to do that manually when you want to. Unless you need it to optimise a particular game, it just causes more problems than it solves.
