Are you talking about the Global World Ships AI ship package?

Yes, I am using them, although there are a few ship models that are the old FS9 format that will crash your sim if you're currently pointed in their direction which have to be removed.

I'm not sure, you may want to follow the original thread, you will get much better answers there.

Apparently there are only very few FS9 models in this package. If someone knows how to identify those models, we could remove them and then the package would work just fine.

AIFP (AI Flight Planner) might be able to identify the FS9 models.

wasn't there a program distributed with WOAI that would convert FS9 models to FSX? Seem to recall something like that.

An update - After having visited the forum for this package the only thing that needs to be removed is the Calypso boats for it to work. Also can now be installed outside the sim and creating an addon xml file helps a great deal.

Thank you! Is there any guide for that? I'd prefer a tested or official version if available.

The AI Ship packages are available in the library as per the above link. Unzip Global AI Ship Traffic V1 and then 200 AI Ships and AI Ship Traffic, this latter to be merged with V1. At this point you have two choices. Drop each of those folders into the respective places in P3D or keep the whole outside the P3D folder and link to it via an xml file to be placed in the Prepar3dv4 addons folder.

XML example (provided by user Izamm)

<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
    <AddOn.Name>AI Ships</AddOn.Name>
    <AddOn.Description>AI Ships</AddOn.Description>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>SimObjects</Category>
        <Path>G:\AI_Ships\Boats</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>SimObjects</Category>
        <Path>G:\AI_Ships\Animals</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Effects</Category>
        <Path>G:\AI_Ships\Add_to_FSX\Effects</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Sound</Category>
        <Path>G:\AI_Ships\Add_to_FSX\Sound</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>

    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>Scenery</Category>
        <Path>G:\AI_Ships</Path>
        <Name>AI_Ships</Name>

        </AddOn.Component>

</SimBase.Document>

Thank you so much Joaquin for the xml ! I certainly prefer the new method, much 'cleaner' !
