P3D4 ES-Isle of Man add-on.xml

These works for me as well...  just be aware the additional autogen categories are added by me.

I kept very very poor multiple backups of autogen definitions.  So I'm adding them all in unedited as a sort of stress test to see how P3D4 handles them.  At some point I will convert all the .spd to .xml and edit duplicate entries out...  so, if you use these as a base for yourself take my autogen categories out.  NOTE: Because they were standalone scenery.cfg entries I've added the ES-3D and ES-SFX scenery folders in a separate add-on.xml so they can be active by themselves and ES sceneries can then be individually turned on or off via the addons menu without compromising any scenery.

Elaine, can't you make a tutorial on this ? You now have to be some kind of IT specialist to add existing scenery.

You agree with me that adding these addons in the scenery library is far more easier than manually adding an A4 Full of text.

Like I wrote earlier : I have 100+ addons devided over 3 SSD's.

No I dont agree Gerard :)

I made this in less time than it would have taken me to add them all individually through scenery.cfg ...cut&paste; cut&paste ;)

AND my addons will get automatically reinstalled when the main sim has to be updated..

AND my autogen files get automatically merged so all my sceneries work perfectly :)

Take a look at Lorby's freeware tool for add-ons - really simplifies the process

I have both ES Isle of Man and Alderney running nicely in P3D v4, but in my setup I partially load some assets (Effects, Sound, Textures, Autogen) using add-on.xml, while I still add the scenery layers and ES libraries to scenery.cfg so that I can still manage all my scenery layers using tools such as Scenery Config Editor.

- In my setup, my ESI packs etc were installed in "E:\Earth Simulations\" and the P3D-specific files are in "E:\Earth Simulations\Prepar3D v2".
- I created a single new folder "Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\EarthSim" for both add-ons.
- In this folder I created a new add-on.xml file using notepad:

For the "scenery.cfg" entries, I simply cut-and-pasted them from the backup copy found in my "E:\Earth Simulations\Prepar3D v2" folder into my "scenery.cfg" using Scenery Config Editor.

- Further to this, it appears that some of the ES fx are not working very well in v4. Specifically, two effect files seem to be missing: "ES-smallwaves.fx" and "ES-Largewaves.fx". So I copied the default effect "fx-waves.fx" into the ES Effects folder twice and renamed it as "ES-smallwaves.fx" and "ES-Largewaves.fx" (edit: I found them, they were there all along, lol). There is a further glitch where the default textures used for the waves is flipped, which I provide a solution for here.
- Also, the ES effect "ES-watersplash.fx" looks awful in v4. I haven't had a chance to improve it yet, so in the mean time, I disabled the splashing water effect by editing Cntrl_ES-watersplash.fx and changing the line "effect.0=ES-watersplash, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00" to "effect.0=none, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00". I have a dummy effect "none.fx" that does nothing:

It's also worth mentioning that if you use any ORBX products, the migrated autogen files included in the ORBX libraries appear to have all the Earth Simulations entries already.

Has anyone had some luck to run the Isle of Man scenery with the Orbx CRM and/or NRM region installed and updated to the latest version? I'm asking because since the most recent update of the NA regions from Orbx, I get an immediate CTD after the scenario screen when I have the Isle of Man scenery activated as an add-on. Deactivating either the Isle of Man scenery and/or the CRM/NRM region solves the problem. But I can't run both at the same time.

Hi all,

Apologies for waking up an old thread but I'm really unable to make the autogen showup in Isle of Man. I get the airport buildings and landmarks show perfectly, but no autogen houses and trees. Does anyone found out how to make them appear?

Hi Guys,

Thanks to Kevin and Steve I gave a try in adding IOM into P3Dv4.

When I purchased this great scenery from ESI in december 2014 I installed it into P3Dv2 and made ESI-packs.

I kept the Hard Drive and use it now in my latest rig as an extra so after installing the v2.5 ESI installer I had a go at reisntalling in a dummy C:\Prepar3D v2 folder.

I only got an "effects" subfolder there (?) but managed to make 3 add-on.xml (the first mostly from \Earth Simulations\Backups dealing with effects, sounds, autogen etc., the second installing ESI-3D and ESI-SFX and the third speciffically about IOM - witthout ES-IOM-Langness and ES-IOM-Bungalow because nowhere to be found-).

My problem, as far as now, is that I can start P3Dv4 from helipads or EGNS but after a while I get the sim to freeze (no CTD, just freezes and PlanG disconnect...).

For example I can fly without problem from IMH5 but when reaching Ramsey the sim hangs up, when starting from EGNS, I can fly over the firemen drilling on the east side of the airport but when reaching the airport bundary everything stops.

Any help would be appreciated.
