No runway landing lights or taxi lights.....

Recommended Posts

I must have hit a control sequence by accident, for I have NO runway or taxi lights illuminated at ANY airport at night. Can someone tell me what the control sequence is to get runway lights turned back on/up?What is the keyboard key sequence, please?ThanksSesquash

In the FS9 displays settings menu, "Aircraft" tab there's a checkbox for landing lights. I've had it become unchecked before...no idea how. Anyway, make sure it's checked.Bob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Bob, I have that checked. It is the RUNWAY Lights that I have turned down/off.There is a keyboard sequence that allows you to turn the runway lights lower. I must have hit this, somehow.I don't know the key combination and/or sequence to turn them back up to bright.Does anybody?:(ThanksSesquash

Oh, OK. Then in the Settings "Hardware" tab, check the "Hardware Rendered Lights" slider.Bob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Hi Bob,Nope...that is not it. I have that set at 8.I know there is a key sequence that allows you to turn down, or turn up the intensity of the runway and approach lights. Some how, I have turned them right down, or off.I need to know how to turn the lights back on. All other lighting effects at night are normal, so that tells me there is a feature in FS9 that allows you to turn up or down the lights.I have activated this by mistake.Anybody? Thanks for your help, Bob.Sesquash

Hi,How about these lines in your FS9.cfg file under the Display section?RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR = 1.0RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR = 1.0RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR = 1.0RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR = 1.0There is no key combination to change these. You need to manually add these lines and their values.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Yeppers...those lines were the 'bad boys'. :)I was just coming onto the forum to advise that I found the cause.Somehow...my settings on those lines were at 0.5 instead of 1.0I do NOT know how they changed...as I had set them to 1.0 a long time ago and never looked back, lol Until one particular flight, I always had lights.I actually tried 1.5 for all four settings, and now really get a good light show through ground fog and haze.I'm going to stick with the 1.5 setting for now. Thanks for the comeback Jim, as resetting those lines fixed the 'no runway and approach lights' problem.I was sure there was a way to raise or lower the lights, but found out that was not the case.Cheers!Mitch R.

I cannot seem to find those RUNWAY_ scalar entries in my FS9.cfg under the [DISPLAY] section. I was going to experiment but I cannot find them at all.If I added them, would it harm FS?*EDIT* Ah, to heck with it.. I'm gonna give it a shot.

Hi,They are not automatically there. You need to manually add them under the DISPLAY heading and edit the values to your liking. Values lower than one dim the lights, greater than one brighten the lights. Yes, you can mix the values if you wish!
