FMC - ALT at specific waypoint

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is it possible to set specific altitude in the waypoint along the way? Lets say that I wish on certain waypoint to achieve FL 390 (from 380). So far FMC says: invalid entry...

That would be a step climb.  Use 390S if you want to do this; however, I wouldn't be programming step climbs because RW a clearance from ATC is needed before changing.

The NG fmc does not accept step climbs I do not think? You could just put /390 on the right side of the waypoint - David Lee

David, please do not offer technical support unless you know the answer.  Your answer is wrong.  One enters 390S in the NGX for step climbs same as 747/777.

Is that an updated fmc in the 737 for p3d? It has been a while since I used the ngx and do not have fsx installed to test but 390s led to "invalid entry" at the times I tried it in the past. - David Lee

You are right, I stand corrected.  I've used step climbs before but only on the VNAV CRZ page.  One needs to manually enter the new cruise altitude.  Sorry, I was certain (incorrectly so) that I have had entered 390S equivalents before.
