P3Dv4 and win10 creators update

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My PC wants me to install the windows creators update. I've waited so far because of some reports I've read here about a few people having problems in v3.

Those of you who have installed v4 and creators update, can you share your experience?

Thanks

I haven't had any problems with the creators update.

P3D v3 and v4 run as well as they did pre-update.

As with all things computer and software, your mileage may vary.

As above, no problems whatsoever. Then again, no noticeable upside either.

Did it work OK?   The update seems to have hosed up several applications on my system including MS Excel, AS16, and EZDok.

I've read that folks on older motherboards may encounter issues.   I'm going to try rolling this back to pre-update for now.

I had problems also. Did 2 rollbacks. Couldn't get saitek quadrant to detect. Went ahead after P3D was

released and did a complete reinstall that included creator edition. Now everything works great.

For now, I've rolled back.  Thankfully it appears the creators update creates a restore point before applying the update.

I plan on building a new rig next spring; hoping that I can keep this system up and running until then.

Thanks,

Mark Trainer

I tried it in P3Dv3 and it brought the sim down to a stuttering mess had to turn it off with the WIN-G key. Be interesting to hear how it goes in P3Dv4. In theory it would be great if it were properly designed. It would be the software equivalent of the old sign you hang on your door "busy gaming, do not disturb".

Hi I did the windows update. but haven't installed v4 yet. My disk space is limited so I'm waiting for fslabs to release the 320 for v4 before uninstalling v3.

All I can tell for now is that it works fine with v3.
