I have acquired both. Dawn of a new era.

pug, I don't think Orbx has announced socal, and it sounds unlikely seeing as that's already covered by ipacs in the default sim. Orbx is releasing their existing airports, with extended photoreal surrounds. Their regions work primarily on landclass technology, which is not the way that AF2 is designed.

Any reviews, screenshot, videos? Too bad I'm too busy to fly FS2, but I do have time to read comments and reviews... eh maybe I should used such time to try the two addons by myself...

I'm keen to join the AF2 fun, but my primary concern is what happens when you fly out of the Orbx Innsbruck coverage area?

As impressive as it is, AF2 is so incomplete. I'm just not sure I want to start investing in something with such a long way to go.

But no denying it looks amazing.

Waiting to see this wonderment!

Let the Screen Shot Forum acquire some screen shots from ya, LOL!

Can't wait to see this...thanks!

Wow, all I can say they both (Meigs and Innsbruck) in AF2 are simply amazing!!!. IMHO, this simulator has an enormous potential to become one of the best if not the best one!.

Hi,

Can I ask how these ORBX products are installed into Aerofly FS2? Reference is made to the use of FTX Central but I thought this was orientated towards FSX and P3D. Am I missing something or just being stupid? Obviously it would be nice to do this through FTX Central as it will handle any necessary updating.

Regards,

Mike

Yes, if you purchase through Orbx rather than Steam, you need to do it through FTX central.

Essentially, if you start central and receive the latest update, it will begin to list Aerofly as an available option for further purchases. If it doesn't, then start Aerofly at least once and open central again.

Darn, I was forgetting I had purchased Aerofly FS2 through Steam. Age catching up! So, it looks like I need to do this via Steam rather than FTX Central.

Thanks very much!

Not necessarily. FTX central will happily recognize your Steam version of Aerofly, and allow you to purchase Lowi and Meigs. Its up to you though whether you would like to purchase these new sceneries from Orbx through FTX central or wait until they are available on Steam.

Wow! I do love FTX Central 3. Life is so much easier 😀 I'll give it a try and see how it goes. I wonder if it will detect the fact that I have moved the Aerofly FS2 Steam installation recently to another SSD. Should be interesting.

Again, many thanks!

Mike

Same here. Clouds have a strange transparency that I had never noticed before. I also see buildings behind them. Never experimented the same over NYC, California etc.
Not sure this is due to LOWI or to some change withing the program itself.
