PTA Presets Megathread

Hello

I try to edit a old preset from previous version of PTA  but when I click appy or F9 I got this errow below

ERROR applying custom tweak [Clouds directional lighting 3] : the desired block is not found

what did I wrong, could anyone telle me how to fix this, thanks

Mr Salden explained it in another thread.

Just delete the probably three custom tweaks entries regarding directional lighting.

In the new version you get these by default so no need for these entries.

Everything should work then.

Just look for the thread title "error applying custom tweak" here on the first page of the PTA forum.

Hey all,

Newcomer to P3Dv4, just migrated from FSX this weekend. Got PTA in the process and am using Matt's presets.

Question: my computer is not supercharged but is good enough to run P3Dv4 smoothly with all my add ons as long as I keep vsync off, texture filtering set to trilinear (though I think I might be able to squeak by with the lowest setting of antistropic) and anti-aliasing at 4x. Given those things, will using PTA presets do me any good at all or will I not see much difference due to my lower settings?

Thanks!

Try Matt’s preset that came with PTA. There is also Adam’s preset and mine.

I would start with pilot pete's preset and adjust it based on my addons and liking...

Hey Connor,

I'm confused.  You said you already bought PTA and are using it.  Do you notice a difference?  At a minimal you need to be running HDR and shadows.  Some presets add HDR settings for you as the presets are typically made with certain HDR values defined.  Feel free to experiment.  You should definitely see a difference!

Well at first I didn't see much, but turns out that I just needed to mess with my graphics settings a bit. Thanks!

I was using this for a while, but noticed that in many airports, the textures don't appear right, they are too dark and with high contrast from the lighter textures. I reloaded the default shaders and the problem went away.
