Having problems with FSDT installer

Recommended Posts

Switched over to V4 this week and most everything has gone smoothly. Then I tried to install my FSDT packages. Loaded the Stand alone Addon Manager and then all of the airports. When I went to the addon manager I got a message that that the airports were active, but not installed in the Scenery Directory. I've fought this thing all afternoon and into the night. If someone could give me some advice I would appreciate it. I went over to FSDT's forum , but didn't find much.

Thanks,

Bill W

Did you download new installers for all your FSDT airports ?

If not, you must. FSDT installs via the new SDKV4 method. I suggest you start fresh with new installers.

I used the new installer for JFK v2 and the airport is missing a lot of library objects. The airport installed outside of P3Dv4 as per new SDK but something amiss somewhere. I noticed that the airport has a tick showing in the main scenery library but it is greyed out and the scenery order can not be changed through this menu and is not showing at all when using the latest scenery configurator Program(1.1.9)

Thanks, Greg. I'm going to take a breath and give it a go later today. Each new version is indeed a learning experience.

On your desktop you should have an icon that says FSDT Live Update (if you do not have that then you do not have the latest installer).  Click on that and it looks at your installation and updates as necessary.

Best regards,

Jim

That is the sim displaying that scenery layer is added through the addon.xml in your documents\p3dv4 files folder not the old adding an area in the scenery.cfg file
