How to use more than 8Go VRAM on the graphic card ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm planning on building a new pc for P3D v4. I was looking at the 1080Ti with 11Go VRAM but remembered a post from @Rob Ainscough mentioning that some tweaking might be necessary to use more than 8Go VRAM in v4.

Anyone knows what that tweak is ?

Thanks

TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP under [TERRAIN]

8 is default, 9 or 10 depending on card. My 1080Ti uses about 8GB with 10. 11 might be doable too...

But the load times become excruciatingly long.

Thanks but if I understood correctly  rob's post he said that by default v4 couldn't use more than 8Go of VRAM, I'm not trying to artificialy increase the VRAM usage of P3D but just make sure that P3D can actually use the graphic card I'm planning to buy to its full potential.

Value 11 is not supported if I know correctly, only 8,9 and 10.

8 is default with "use high res textures" textures NOT checked in ui

9 is default with "use high res textures" checked in ui

10 is the only reason to add the line to the cfg file.
