Still having problems with v4 ?

Recommended Posts

I have updated to the latest version for P3D v4.  Two issues seem to be present.

1) I cannot get the consol to close and remain closed on the next open.  I have modified the fsuipc ini file to change from kill to close but the problem remains.

2) I notice that on the main screen it says that FSUIPC not found but LINDA still works.  Is this because it is looking for FSUIPC in P3Dv3 when I am running P3Dv4 ?  Perhaps the wording of the main screen should be changed to better reflect what LINDA is actually finding fault with.

Mark, is it only you who uses LINDA? No one else seems to have all issues you do.

For P3Dv4, you will need a fresh installation of LINDA 3.0.0 beta in its root directory (ie. c:/p3dv4/modules). The top bar of LINDA now shows whether your are connected to a 32-bit or 64-bit Flt Sim. You will also need the latest FSUIPC5 5.103 installed. LINDA should report this version number.

I have fixed the Console problem. If closed before you close LINDA (manually) it will not appear on restarting. Check you FSUIPC5.ini [Programs] block so that it reads CLOSE not KILL. Please send me your FSUIPC5.ini and the /modules/linda-cfg/system/linda-gui.ini files.

OK I think everything is working properly now.  My issue was that I was only updating LINDA module for P3D v4 and it seemed to always load up the module from P3Dv3....which is odd.  I have updated both now and all is good.  I suspect that somewhere in my P3Dv4 install the path to LINDA is actually to the exe file in P3Dv3.  Where do I check if this is the case?

I have 3 Flt Sims installed (FSX-SE, P3Dv3 and P3Dv4) I have to install the LINDA update to all 3 Sims. I therefore have 3 LINDA shortcuts on my Desktop and need to make sure that I start the correct for the Sim I am using.

If you copied your FSUIPC4.ini to P3Dv4 and renamed it FSUIPC5.ini (as recommended), you need to edit this FSUIPC5.ini and search for the [Programs] block. Make sure that the LINDA points to the correct P3Dv4 \modules directory (not to P3Dv3).
