"Beauty and functionality is in the eye of the beholder"I am using Avast which integrates very well, and it is FREEWARE for Home Users.Details Here:http://www.avast.com/eng/free_virus_protectio.htmlMy advice is this. if you are in a hurry, and find it tough to come to a decision, try the Freeware Avast, and take your time to decide if you want to purchase another program at a later date.Your or anyone's contention that a program will prevent ALL virus's is a myth IMHO.As for impact on MSFS 2004, Unless you fly on-line in multiplayer, you can shut down your Internet connection and disable your virus software.Good Luck,JoeJOIN The AVSIM RTW RACE FLIGHT TEAM****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Hi Barry,I have NOD32 installed and I just flew my RA spitfire which I just purchased today (a complete masterpiece) and let me tell you I didn't notice any performance degradation whatsoever.Disclaimer: I am speaking in regards to my system. Performance may vary from system to system so don't take this advice as gospel! The best advice I can provide is to download and install the trial version of the NOD32 anti-virus program and run FS to see for yourself.I don't know if any AV program can actually detect all viruses all the time, but NOD32 is by far one of the best.James

NOD32, my reasons are well documented in other posts.Try it, if you like it, and it performs to your liking buy it, if not try one of the many other AV progs out there, but I think you would be hard pushed to better NOD32.Dan.

I'll go with everything Dan said, I've been very pleased with NOD32: Fast, great update service, and a footprint so small that I leave it running ALL the time, even in FS. No discernable performance hit at all.Now for the fly in the ointment: The multiPC discount is easy to work out, cos there isn't one. At least here in Germany it's so:1 copy=
