My rule of thumb is always to miss out a generation of graphics card ... so if I were in your shoes I would wait for, what should be the '11 series' of cards .

Do not be tempted to buy a GTX1080 .. I can't see that much difference between that and the 1070  .....

Now the 1080Ti is a different ball game all together!!  .... Superb ... but at a price!!

I'd hang on if I were you  :)

You are right about prices going up. My 1070 quick silver I bought 4 months ago was £375 from the same place (overclockers UK) it's now £485

Nyxx ...

The reason why graphics cards are going up in price at the moment is because of this latest craze of 'Bit Mining' !!!

It's a case of sitting tight until this 'trendy' phase as passed by   ....

Overclockers has become very expensive.  Brexit is biting.  The mighty pound is hurting

Im finding used cards but maybe 100 less than a new? For that I'd pay the new price and keep the warranty in tact.

I found a GTX1080 for $500 finding a 1070 for around $350-475.

$350 is a great price for a GTX 1070 but $475 is a bit higher than the regular price of the gpu...depending on the model. For example, $475 for a MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 is a good price at the moment. Before the cryptocurrency boom the card sold on Amazon for an average price of  $400.
