Reshade Problem.

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have recently installed "Reshade 3.0.7", and although the presets seem to work o.k, and apart from X-Plane hanging when shutting down when Reshade is installed, not sure if there is a fix for this, the other problem since installing reshade is when I change airports there is no preview of the airport, i.e no graphic of the runways and parking spots, although they are listed in the left panel. When reshade is removed the graphic is back and normal. I am running X-Plane ver.11.01r2.

Thanks,

John.

The hanging when exiting XPL11 is a known issue with ReShade.  Happens to me as well.

Reshade is pretty much useless in X-Plane. Things like saturation and color balance are handled easily by MaxxFX or BluFX. Not a singe preset in Reshade will make X-Plane "look better". All it will do is crash on exit. Get over this fad.

Well to each his own. I have bought MaxxFX but I strongly prefer reshade. MaxxFX is pretty much useless to me. If it only it had Lumasharpen...

I don't care if X-Plane crashes on exit, as long as it doesn't crash during flight.

Well if your display doesn't have sharpening functions, that's probably the only viable use case for Reshade then. My Sony TV handles sharpening much better than Reshade though.

Yes, the LumaSharpen and Clarity options are the best part of ReShade and make XPL11 look so much better that I can't go back to not using it.

Are you saying that ReShade does not make XPL11 hang and not shut down correctly upon exiting?  If so, what version are you using?

I also get the hang on exit.  If I disable it before exiting I still get it.  Is there a fix or solution for this?

I also have the same problem. X-Plane crashes on exit with the latest reshade.

It always does. Non-fixable, as Reshade has never designed to work with X-plane. We still use it, because it's the best tool around. The hang-up-on-exit error is a bit annoying, but no deal breaker (your are exiting the sim anyway).

If the crash on exit bothers you, you can use an older version of Reshade which doesn't show the problem. I need to be at my PC to be sure, but I think it's 3.0.4.

But apart from not crashing on exit, it's not better or worse than the current build.

If you use the older version, then you will have the prop texture problem I believe?

It may depend on the addon, but I can't recall having a problem with prop textures. Is it in external or internal views or both? That being said, I'm on the latest version for quite some time now and can't crosscheck.
