I never said you did, but didn't somebody try to ask for permission and then also get threatened with a lawsuit? I could be wrong about that, as my old age might be getting to me.

I think this is a big misconception in the sim crowd. If you want to do something with someone else's name, you should ask them first. I think some of the 'horror stories' people talk about are related to people not getting permission first.

Global Girl on Facebook used to be Gulfstream Girl and it's my understanding that she was threatened by Gulfstream for using their name....which is why she changed it to Global Girl.

Well, being realistic, a 757 or a 767 would fit perfectly in the PMDG's fleet. Access to data shouldn't be a problem; they are very popular among the flight sim community; both with freighters versions; they are still very active; and I like them! :tongue:

When Orbx completes the world they'll do the moon then on to Mars so we'll need a space plane.:smile:

From a purely aesthetical point of view, 757 in a landing configuration looks like a gigantic bird of prey ready to grab its victim. I mean, just look at it! Isn't it the most awesome sight?

As a private pilot, when I hear about a 757 in my vicinity, I immediately "panic". The wake turbulence they make is in its own category (literally).

Got a source for that? I can't even imagine 1)Why a Level-D manufacturer would begin to design and produce a multi-million dollar sim without working extremely closely with the company whose plane they're simulating 2)Why it's in Gulfstream's best interest to shut down production of training devices. 

By the way, there's a Gulfstream in production right now for FSX/P3D. Their page has been up for almost a year and from the videos it seems like they've made some good progress, so I'd imagine if it was going to be taken down it would have been already.

That's not correct. There are dozens of Level-D sims of various Gulfstream aircraft. How do you think Gulfstream pilots train?

Flight Safety in particular has multiple Level-D Gulfstream sims at their facilities in Wilmington, DE and Savannah, GA (located right next to the GAC factory).

CAE, a competitor to Flight Safety also have Gulfstream Level-D sims at several locations.

Those simlulators are obviously developed with the active cooperation of Gulfstream.

I don't think Gulfstream has ever actually sued any consumer flight sim developer, but the company may well have issued a cease and desist letter or two. They consider any unauthorized use of their name to be trademark infringement.

They have a 41 for FSX so I think it would be easier for PMDG to get it to P3DV4. I would love the 41 to do some Eastern Airways flights.

I can only dream of a PMDG level 757 or 767. In my opinion these are under represented aircraft in modern times. The 757 is just as ubiquitous now as the 727 is was meant to replace.
