New ChasePlane user getting CTD P3Dv3.4

Recommended Posts

I decided to move from Ezdok v1 to Chaseplane last night and I was able to configure all my planes and fly briefly to test them out. After seeing an update today I'm getting constant CTD after I load up the PMDG 737. I'm getting the following errors.

What I am getting upon launch is "Chaseplane crashes with the following message, We are sorry, an unknown error occured.
Please contact us at alpha@oldprop.com with a reference to this message: (ProtocolError)

When I try fsfsxpackages.com I get the message 503 Service Unavailable.

Hi Dan,

Have you tried switching view without ChasePlane running?
From what I see, it seems to be P3D crashing ChasePlane, not the other way around.

A quick search on this very forum will point you to various instances of P3D throwing sim1.dll crashes

Keven

I did some testing with CP on and Off. The only time I get it to crash is when I add thunderstorms and then it locks up with the SIM1.dll error. It happens with the PMDG 737 every time. any other weather and it's fine.

Looks like I may have found the problem. I up my voltage to 1.30 and the plane loads fine now in heavy thunderstorms. Looks like the weather put just enough of a load on my system to trigger a crash. I haven't flown in default thunderstorms in sometime and the crash didn't happen with the default aircraft. Between the PMDG load and the weather it was just enough. I'm running a 4790K @ 4.6Ghz. I'll keep you posted and thanks again for the help.
