Upcomming QW 787 for p3d v3

You early V4 adapters are funny. I bet you were the same way when P3D  first came out and quickly dumped on FSX. I think I'll take the PMDG 737 up for a spin today as you still wait for the V4 update :p

Don't go too far, or to too detailed an area, and enjoy your OOM! :D

Most likely (or better: most definitely) the FSX version will not work with P3D (any version) because PD3 has another interface then FSX.

Might be true.

The FSX default 737 works fine in P3D..

I feel sorry for people who for example purchased the 747v3 for FSX instead of P3D just months ago to now be moving to P3dv4. But on the other hand it was silly to purchase something for such an old title!

Oh you clearly miss me. I went to paid PMDG 737, 777 and 747 V3 1 week before I decide to give P3D V3 a try...I don't know why I purchased them all before even try P3D first. What a lesson I have! Of course I bought all of them again 1-2 months later which hurt me pretty bad but oh well, it's the hobby...

v4 is better without a doubt, but I'm running v3 as well since that's where most of my aircraft are parked.  Makes absolutely no sense to switch over completely until the addon world catches up.  However, once that ball gets rolling, over the next year or so, there will be no looking back.  For now, no reason whatsoever to ditch v3 unless you want to tootle around in default aircraft or pick from a limited selection of addons that are available.  Aerosoft?  Nope.  FsLabs?  Nah.  Qualitywings?  Nope.  And, we have absolutely no idea when these will be released as developers are either mum on the subject or they keep pushing dates back with each passing week.  Once the NGX is ready for v4, I will do much more flying in the sim because the 777 is not enough, and I'm really not fond of the 717 whatsoever after testing it out for the past week.  So, when I want to fly the Bus, I can still fall back on v3.  I don't see the sense in this mad rush to v4 considering how it's still way too early to expect much.

John

This is exacly what I thought. After a month of v4's release I'm allready forced to spent 200$ on new planes and p3d v4. IMO it's way to quick.

Never had one...of course, if I know that my VAS will be a problem in a flight, I just save and reset.  2 minutes tops and I'm back in the air no problemo.  It's nice not having to do that in v4, but I'd rather have this minor inconvenience in v3 with aircraft than flying in v4 without my favorite birds atm.

Anyone who claims they never had a OOM never pushed any limits.

FYI, never had an OOM as long as I've been using P3Dv3 for almost a year now and I can fly PMDG 777 14+ hours or fly from ImagineSim KATL to Aerosoft EDDF which are heavy OOM hitters with no problems at all on a 4790K@4.7Ghz. I have my sliders almost maxed out. I run Rex4, Airport HD, AS16, Global Mesh 2010, Ground Environment X, all the Ultimate Terrain, I also use AI packages for online flying and all while running on a Sony 43in 4K TV. So your "enjoy your OOM" is pointless in my case.  I own just about every quality payware scenery out and haven't come across a single OOM. Too offset the load I run most programs from a client.

It's called fine-tuning your simulator.

Not everything has to be maxed out to get great performance. A lot depends on hardware used. Most sliders can be set far right with a single notch back to still push your system hard and not get OOM. Just because some don't get OOM doesn't mean there not pushing there sim hard. Not every system or tweak is the same.

And yet before this you contradict yourself saying you have everything maxed out... people with much better rigs than yours get OOMs, so either you dont have what you say or its just not true...

I don't get OOM's in FSX either. And I don't have dx10 fixer, nor a big, fast rig. And I have sliders just as right then many I've seen using p3d v4.

I used the NGX and orbx airports/ regions even with decent ai and had great performance. No saving flight and coming back because I'd often only be at 1.6-1.8gb at the end of a 2-3 hour flight. That's with all airports and scenery loaded as well.

I guess some just don't know how to set up their systems.

Right, 2-3 h flight is nothing...

So you guys enjoy your 32-bit Flight Sim then. Have fun. It's funny how some people seem to have a need to justify themselves. There's just no comparison really between P3D v4 vs P3D v3 and let's not even compare it to FSX. It's just on a whole nother level now. FSX should've died a long time ago and RIP. Now the focus is on P3D v4 and the future. Some developers have agreed mutually that FSX is dead and that it's finally time to move on.
