NYC Lags

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I´m having this issue ever since I had to make a complete reinstallation of FSX. Apparently every time I try to fly in the NYC (And surroundings) Area the Sim gets kind of a freeze every 10 seconds or so (This freeze lasts for about 2 or 3 sec). I dont loose any Fps its only those lags which make the JFK and other NYC airports unflyable, also NYC is the only area where this happens, I´ve tried SEA, BOS, etc and in this areas everything is normal.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Guys

Default scenery?  If default, it is strange as you should be able to get 200-300 fps with the default scenery/aircraft.  Are you using the same settings as shown in the AVSIM FSX Configuration Guide?  The same Nvidia Inspector settings?  The AVSIM CTD Guide provides guidance for freezes during flight (page 30).

NYC is a high intensity environment with the custom scenery objects and three major airports in the nearer and a ton of other airports in the farther area (I call it "AI hell"). Combined with FSUIPC's autosave feature, this can produce stutters.

Hello Bjoern,

I actually don´t use any addon scenery for the NY Area due to the same reason, since it is a high intensity environment, although this problem has been there even before I installed FSUIPC. What I dont understand is even in default scenery the freezes are still there even with sliders at minimum, I understand that is a complex are, but FSX is supposed to handle it correctly if you have the appropiate hardware, doesnt it?

Don't let good hardware fool you as FSX will still eat it alive if you let it.

And I did not mean custom scenery for NYC, but default non-autogen objects, such as landmarks.

Hi Bjoern,

Thanks for the heads up. I´ll keep an eye on how its behaving by reducing all sliders, and I´ll keep you posted.
