Key assignment for multiple overhead functions

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to map a single key for multiple assignments such as turning off all landing and strobe lights by a press of a keyboard button, or moving the engine starter switches to a particular setting?

Have a look in key assignments in the FMC.

I'm not entirely sure if it allows you to set one key command for two things. I'm not really sure why you would want to anyhow.

As stated earlier, the FMC only allows single  key assignments. It also doesnt hold all overhead function. It would be handy to set keys for lights, transponder settings and few other for entering and vacating a runway for examlpe. Its quite annoying having to pan the view and using the mouse during the taxi phase, and making use of comms in an online network also doesnt really help. Most of it would have been handled by the other (tillerless) side anyway.

Have you tried FS2Crew? I started using it recently for 777, and it's a lovely addition :-)

Well, I've been playing around with this - I have both captain and FO chronometer ET RUN/HOLD set to the same key with the 744.  The 737 and 777 will not let me use the same key for two things.

Cheers,

I would like a statement of whether registered fsuipc, linda or anything else involving macros are absolutely necessary.

I think if you want to assign a key command to a joystick, then yes, you will need FSUIPC.
