Prop sync annunciatior light is always lit when prop sync is selected ON. The annunciator light should be ON only when :

1) Prop sync is ON

And

2) gear is down and locked

Why would the prop sync be on when the gear is down and locked, it should be turned off before take-off and landing? Item on the landing and take-off check lists? It is usually turned on once the engines are stable during cruise climb, at least that is my understanding of why one uses prop sync?

On the 690 this is an amber light, hence it's a caution, not an advisory. That's why it comes on with the gear down.

The RW manual says: Indicates that prop sync on is not appropriate.

That makes sense, so even if you turned it off on approach once you lower the gear the caution light would come on to remind you to check that it's off? Is that right?

Thanks - Martin

No. IRL it comes only on if you forget to turn it off once the gear is down.

Here is the updated file to fix the prop sync discrepancy.

1)  Open a blank text document and name it "Gauge_ANUM_690B_1.xml"  Make sure the suffix .txt is not in the name.

2)  Paste the following into the new xml document

3)  Open the panel folder and create a new folder within named "GAUGE_690B"

4) Place the new file "Gauge_Anum_690B_1.xml" in the GAUGE_690B folder.

5) Open the panel.cfg file and replace the entry in [Vcockpit05] that says "gauge00=GAUGE_690B!Gauge_Anum_690B, 0,6,1024,112" with "gauge00=GAUGE_690B!Gauge_Anum_690B_1,       0,  6, 1024,112"

The prop sync light should work properly now.

Thanks for this and the PH fix, I have one request that can be fix it too in the same xml. The hydraulic system it's wrong. In RL with the battery on the indicator mark 0 pressure, the pressure raises when start any engine (L/R). Before start the engines if you need to know if there's hydraulic in the tank you have to press the brakes or get down the flaps. In the carenado representation you pass the battery and magically there's the instrument marking pressure. And the needle don't move till you put to off the battery.

Can you take a look of this item?

Regardless

What does  =+++=  mean??

I have no idea.  It wasn't something I changed.  It was already in the .xml.  I included all of it so it would be a simple cut and paste.

Robert,

I wish I had a POH for the airplane so I could code this exactly right.  But, I do not.  I do have however, this checklist for the 690B.

https://www.scribd.com/document/293547054/Turbo-Commander-690B-Checklist-pdf

In the checklist there is an item where the hydraulic pressure is checked between 470 and 605 PSI after the battery is turned on.  This suggests there is an electrically driven hyd pump in the aircraft.  Later, after engine starts, the hyd pressure is supposed to be between 900 and 1075 PSI, which suggests there is/are engine driven hyd pump(s) that have more capacity than the electric one.  When the battery is turned on in the Carenado 690B the hyd pressure goes to about 550 PSI, which would be correct.  The error seems to be that hyd pressure doesn't increase to the higher value after start.  I think I can fix that, but I don't know when I can get to it.

I have spent some time on this and unfortunately, I can't find a VAR that controls the hydraulic pressure gauge.  There is a hydraulic LVAR but it doesn't change the gauge value.  None of the hydraulic AVARs register any pressure at all.  Maybe it's inherent in the model. which we can't get at.  Sorry....

Thanks anyway, for you time, for me as a RL pilot of commander aircraft this item its important obviously and must work as POH. Well is carenado at least so.....  Much to ask.....

Thanks again for the PH and the prop synchronizer light fix!!

  • Flight Simulation's Premier Resource!

AVSIM is a free service to the flight simulation community. AVSIM is staffed completely by volunteers and all funds donated to AVSIM go directly back to supporting the community. Your donation here helps to pay our bandwidth costs, emergency funding, and other general costs that crop up from time to time. Thank you for your support!
