Heya guys am hoping we will be able to use a free 3d modelling programme as the ones they have plug inns for are way too expensive for the average Joe who wants to create some scenery

It's hard to tell at this point what the exact interoperability of the Aerofly FS2 formats will be with various freeware 3D modeling apps, but the potential  choices are GMax, Blender and SketchUp, probably in that order.

Hi,

AC3D is a tool with existing aerofly plugins. As shown in the developers forum we could add buildings, aircrafts and runways. This tool will be supported further on by IPACS.

It is not freeware, but the price differs strongly from 3Dmax and Cinema4D.
