FSX-SE Blurries, Artifacts and other problems

Hi there,

I know this has been asked at least 1000 times before on here but I still haven't been able to find an answer to the problem I'm having.

As you can see in the images below, I'm having major artefact problems  and blurries in fsx se.

I never used to have this problem when I used FSX boxed edition with the exact same scenery and rig that I'm using now

I've read numerous threads on pulling back settings, tweaking the CFG etc. and I still can't get a solution.

These are my current FSX scenery settings:

And with the boxed edition I used to be able to have my settings much higher than this!

It is a relatively new installation of FSX SE, so I'm thinking maybe something went wrong when installing products?

I currently have a couple of UK2000 airports, Baleric sceneries and UTX Europe and FTX England. FTX is above UTX and the airports are above that (as suggested.)

 

Just to reiterate, even with a fresh CFG with no tweaks, and autogen etc turned down low, I still get the same problem.

FSX is on an SSD with SATA 3 (6Gbps) connection - this is the only other difference as FSX boxed was on a harddrive.

2 things I saw and would change:

[Graphics]

Texture_Max_Load=4096  change to 1024

 

[Terrain]

LOD_RADIUS=3.5  Change to 4.5 ( which is the default setting)

Make these changes in your FSX.cfg  Don't adjust your sliders!

Artifacts are from conflicting sceneries, switch them all off in the scenery library and then one by one back on till the artifacts come back and you will have found your culprit

See the AVSIM FSX Configuration Guide (just updated).  You did not indicate what your display driver settings are.  Do you use the Nvidia Inspector?  If so, try the settings in the FSX Config Guide.  Those are more important than the FSX.cfg.  In the FSX.cfg, I would comment out Affinity Mask tweak (just put two slashes // in front of the parameter and it will not load).  Horrible tweak (IMHO).

Texture_Bandwidth_Multi=160??  Way, way too high.  Do you know how long it would take to render textures at that setting.  Leave it at the default, 40 or no higher than 60.  That might be your problem all by itself..

Hi everybody,

Thank you so much for all your suggestions! I have tried most of them with the exception of the configuration tool, but still nothing has changed.

I'm thinking now maybe my FTX and UTX mucked up somehow? As I have been away from FSX a while, I only had version 1.00 of EU England, and jumped straight to 1.53!

I'm thinking now that maybe a fresh install is in order? followed by the guide before I add anything else to the game?

I would love to know what you guys think!
