P3d V.4 with Win 10?

Recommended Posts

I am waiting a few months until more products are V4 compatible and then I will be rebuilding my entire rig around a 4k 47" monitor. My question to anyone who may have experience with this, is should I stick with Win 7 or make a jump to Win 10? Are there any benefits in doing so, or will I be opening a can of worms with products not being supported and bugs etc etc? Cheers guys.

Windows 10, no doubt. It's probably actually required to utilize certain hardware resources.

Win 10 here as well. Zero issues. I did a lot of hand wringing at the time when deciding to upgrade to Win 10, but overall I'm quite glad I did. It's worth noting that now with P3Dv4 requiring new versions of nearly everything, I'm not so worried about trying to run old, possibly unsupported software.

Windows 7 was released in October 2009. It will be eight years old in a few months. Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 7 in January 2015. Windows 7 only receives security updates from Microsoft, but not any maintenance upgrades that add or upgrade Windows features that could perhaps be required by newer addons.

Windows 10 is the officially recommended Windows version for P3D v4 by Lockheed Martin, so should there be some addon for P3D v4 that doesn't properly support Windows 10, then it's not really a proper P3D v4 addon...

I upgraded to Windows 10 not long after it was released and I have had no issues with it and P3D v3/v4.

Does anyone run a second networked computer on Win 7 while FSX/P3D on the main PC?
