Why not turning around :PMDG making their boeings available to X-Plane ?

Recommended Posts

Recently, PMDG made the cloudmaster, originally for X-Plane, available to be used in FXS and P3D. How about making their boeings available for X-Plane users?

I don't have much confidence in more XP releases from PMDG. They can't even give us a straight answer. See the comment below I pasted from the above link. We have been waiting months for the DC6 update for XP11.

"When/if we have more information on further new products for XPL, we will, obviously, let you know!"

Their answer was that they have nothing to share at the moment. They obviously won't give a definitive yes or no for a lot of reasons, much like they never announce new products until after a lot of the work has been done and also how they never give release dates more than 2 weeks out.

Yeah, it's too bad.  On the fence about getting XPL 11 but if PMDG started to release some of their jets for this sim I would make the move for sure.  Waiting for the Rotate MD-11......

I think I remember a while back they said that as it stands the 777/747/NGX won't be made for X-Plane because the platform wasn't capable of some of the features that the P3D/FSX could handle?

I could be wrong though.

I have xp-11, but I rarely use it.  I love the lighting, and I also think they nailed the performance end of things MUCH better than P3D v4, hands-down.  However, I think it's far from being a complete sim.  No real AI to speak of, a marginal weather engine, and a few other little quirks that kill the realism factor for me.  However, I'm getting used to it, and maybe in a year or so it will have some fantastic addons that put it on par with V4.  For now, I'm just kind of in limbo as v4 has some pretty disappointing shortcomings as well.  PMDG sure makes up for those with the 777 and NGX, my two favorite birds.  You can have more choices in aircraft in x-plane 11, from the 757 to Airbus to 737s, but they seem to lack a realism quality I like.  It's also really easy to create photoreal scenery with appropriate autogen.  However, getting the sim in general to a place where I like it would take a lot of work and I don't want to start from scratch again.

X-Plane has a very small, enthusiast, userbase. That's probably the main reason.

CASE: Louqe S1 MKIII CPU: AMD R5 7600X RAM: 32GB DDR5 5600 GPU: nVidia RTX 4070 · SSDs: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 PCIe · PNY XLR8 CS3040 2TB M.2 PCIe · VIDEO: LG-32GK650F QHD 32" 144Hz FREE/G-SYNC · MISC: Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Joystick + Throttle Quadrant · MSFS DX11 · Windows 11

Im pretty sure if they would have released any of the jets that they have made, they would have seen bigger sales than with the DC6.. its just that its too complicated and not really what most people fly these days..
