I'll have to think about it for $159 on Amazon for the clip on as well.   The clip-on LED looks fragile for someone who likes to get up and down out of their chair regularly.  I do use Sony studio monitor headphones so it would clip to those.   I can see if you were hunkered down for a VFR flight TrackIR would be fabulous.  I'm a little less convinced for how I use P3D which is w/ FSCaptain flying PMDG 737/777, Majestic Q400.

As mentioned before in this thread, go for the TrackHat solution. It's much cheaper and less fragile.

Noel, OpenTrack is a proven, well-supported piece of software which is being regularly updated and the TrackHat Clip is a big improvement on the clip available from TrackIR. You're not getting any extra features by buying TrackIR, you're just paying more than twice the price for the same functionality.

Excellent I appreciate it I will check out TrackHat and OpenTrack thanks.  But what hardware do I need besides the LED clip?  What takes the place of Track IR's monitor-top camera or whatever it is?
