Incomplete runway designation

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since installing P3D V4 I have noticed that RC is not saying that complete runway designation,  for example at Dubai instead of 12 right or left it will ask AI traffic to taxi to runway 12. This is happening at all airports. Oddly enough the taxi instructions or landing clearances to me are ok with full runway designation. I have already run the latest make runways and see the correct available runways in the request runway list.

Thanks alot for the help

Regards

Asad

Asad,

If you don't have Lorby's Addon Organiser you will need it. That's the only way of creating a scenery.cfg file that is useable by MakeRunways.

Discussion is here.  https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/795-lorby-si-freeware/

Ray

Thanks alot for your response. I do have lorbys add on organizer and have the scenery config created but radar contact continues to vocalize incomplete runway designation.

Is there something I can check to view the runway list thag radar contact is using?

Asad,

Have a look at r4.csv but you will need Notepad++ to view it. Don't use Excel.

Hi, found any solution? I have this issue, too. Looking at the r4.csv file, what should I find wrong? Keep in mind that the lack of R or L is only for AI airplanes, my airplane is always addressed to the correct runway. Thanks.

I mean, this is an example of my home airport LIRF in r4.csv file:

LIRF,0070,41.799397,12.232381,14,69.220,10842,0,148,0.500,41.804550,12.251092,0,CT,CL
LIRF,0161,41.845993,12.261472,14,162.150,12823,108.10DG,197,0.500,41.829208,12.268510,0,CT,
LIRF,0162,41.815628,12.226311,14,162.140,12813,109.75DG,197,0.500,41.798855,12.233344,0,,
LIRF,0250,41.809704,12.269803,14,249.220,10842,109.70BG,148,0.500,41.804550,12.251092,0,,CL
LIRF,0341,41.782082,12.240377,14,342.140,12813,108.90DG,197,0.500,41.798855,12.233344,0,CT,CL
LIRF,0342,41.812424,12.275548,14,342.150,12823,111.55DG,197,0.500,41.829208,12.268510,0,CT,CL

The runways look ok, but RC ATC instructs AI airplanes to go to runway 34. In fact there are 341 and 342, that is 34R and 34L. Why then is ATC wrong?

Sorry, I forgot to say that at the same time I checked the P3D default ATC and, while RC said "runway 34", the default ATC said "runway 34R"...

James,

Does this happen with more than one controller? It's highly unlikely there is a bug in RC4 so we have to look at alternative possibilities.

Try disabling all controllers except one (RC restart required) and see if it's consistent with each one. You could start with me and work your way through each one checking if the runway is enunciated correctly.

The only other way I can think of is to generate a log and as soon as the problem is encountered save the log and send it to JD with a brief description of the problem. See the pinned posts on how to do this.

Thanks, Ray, I will try as you say. Indeed until P3D v3 everything worked correctly.

To my knowledge this is something that is within P3D V4. It happens with PF3 as well. And some programs like FSC have problems reading airports correctly.

The starnge thing is that with your own airplane RC recognizes the runways correctly, the problem is only with AI.

I've just tried a test based at LIRF and tuned to GND on 121.90. My own instruction was to taxi to 16L. The Ai pilots are also cleared to "one six left" or "one six right".

The GND Controller is Geri Jackson. Folder number is 21 under winwood. There should be a total of 1911 files. 1909 wavs, 1 gif and 1 txt.

Folders 2-22 are all controllers and all should have 1911 files.

Tried with Geri, folder 21, 1911 files. No success, I was cleared to runway 34R, while all AI airplanes to runway 34

That makes no sense whatsoever. What traffic package are you using?

SPAI 7. I also tried at Copenhagen EKCH, no way, AI cleared to runway 22, without R or L.
