FreeMeshX Global 2.0 - Release Announcement

Recommended Posts

I've had no problems with it.  It sounds like an installation problem that may take Dr. Moser's expertise. Make sure the mesh is installed per the instructions, no short cuts. 🙂

Don't forget there is an extra step when installing fsx add-on scenery.  I will check GEML and GMMW when I complete my current flight.

Hello...

I am trying to install freemesh x Europe.

I downloaded it via torrent (just Europe and Patches folders), I activated the two folders (patches layer over Europe layer) and I don't know if that is correct. I can see some differencies but it is almost similar to what I see using default meshes,

I read about an installer .exe file but... where is it???

Hi Daniel,

just wanted to say thank you ...

The Free-MeshX project is fantastic, - absolutely great work !!!

Many many thanks.

At least I have not found any mistakes so far. Should I notice something I will report it here of course.

best regards

Martin

Hi folks,

Thanks for the community support. I really appreciate people stepping up to help others out. I stepped away from flight simulation for about half a year for a nice, healthy hiatus.

Eventually, I'll get around to release a patch to fix some remaining issues.

the reason I am asking is because the USA is so much larger then the global

The USA is probably more highly detailed than the Global.

FreeMeshX features LOD10 (38-m resolution) coverage for:

  • North America (LOD10 Canada is released in this mesh - default USA is already LOD10, so USA is not included for the base release. A separate LOD12 USA mesh is available for beta testing)

All explained in the opening post @dnz0427. AFAIK you layer mesh just like other scenery, so you can put two meshes with overlapping coverage and the one which is higher in the scenery library is the one you'll see in the overlap area.
